Since there is no suspension travel, all the rider’s input is transferred more directly to the front wheel. Tire choice and air pressure also play an important role in compensating for the lack of suspension.Rigid forks are used on many types of bicycles, including road bikes, gravel bikes, touring bikes, fixed-gear bikes, and some mountain bikes. Their popularity continues because they offer a blend of simplicity, control, and efficiency. For riders who want a dependable front-end design with minimal maintenance, a rigid bicycle fork remains a strong and effective choice.
